Herbalism is by far one of the best ways to make gold in World of Warcraft. If you’re still at a low level, you can farm for gold around Loch Modan. For higher levels, you can farm in the Swamp of Sorrows and Hinterlands. The caves in Hinterlands are filled with ghost caps, which can sell for a pretty penny at the auction house.

If you’re at least level 53 or 54 in WoW, you can farm in Winterspring. There are tons of level 55+ ghost spawns that you can kill over and over again that drop some pretty good items. If you have the mining profession, you can farm for tin (at lower levels) around Ashenvale and South Barrens. For higher levels, you can mine for mithril around Tanaris, in Gadgetzan, and throughout the Un’Goro Crater.

Another way to make WoW gold is to look for limited supply items. You can do this by visiting various vendors and buying the items that are often sold out, and then reselling them at the AH for more. Some examples of these items can include: recipes, patterns, plans, rare material that can be used for certain professions in World of Warcraft, etc.

Farm gold by killing humanoid creatures, such as the undead, bandits, thieves, and ogres. They usually drop a lot of cloth that can be sold, along with decent weapons. It’s pretty common for them to drop green items, which can come in handy if you are an enchanter.

Dustwallow Marsh is a great place to farm in World of Warcraft. You can especially make a lot of gold if skinning is your profession. Go down to the beach and grind away with level 36-38 turtles! There are also plenty of alligators in the area, although you should avoid them if you’re below level 38.

Instances can always be a great source of good loot in World of Warcraft, although it can be hard to get all the way through an instance by yourself. The library in the Scarlet Monastery is especially a great place to make gold in World of Warcraft. If you think you can get through it by yourself, then it’s definitely worth trying!
